Kashiwa Daisuke

Born in Hiroshima, Kashiwa Daisuke (柏大輔) started off as the composer and guitarist of postrock band Yodaka in 2001.
Later on their postrocking and psychedelic sound and the influences of Jim O’Rourke, Alva Noto, and Maurizio Bianchi made him concentrate on a solo career in the year 2004, in which he now collaborates with artist like Mokira, a Mille Plateaux-Artist.
Daisuke mainly attaches importance to create not only acoustic but also electronic and experimental soundscapes and atmospheres. He mixes up a wide variety of classic instruments, spoken word snippets, crisp beats with a suitable proportion of ambient and builds them all up to one imaginary film made for listen to.
In 2004 he started his solo project, and his tracks were aired on RADIO SAKAMOTO to great critical acclaim. In 2005, his track was featured on a compilation album released by German avant garde label "onpa", he then went onto a Germany tour to support the release. His first album "april.02" was also released from “onpa” the year after. Electronic Music Magazine "DE;BUG" awarded it 5 points. In 2007, collaborating with olive oil (ROMZ), Takeshi Nishimoto and others, he released the remix album "april07".He soon follows with the release of his second album "’program music" from “Noble”.

God Is an Astronaut

God Is an Astronaut are an instrumental three piece hailing from the Glen of the Downs, Co. Wicklow, Ireland. Joining the slightly bizarre world of post-rock, God Is An Astronaut seem totally at ease with the genre's ever changing climate, one which more often than not, descends into pretentious bollocks for the sake of 'experimentation'. God Is An Astronaut are, put bluntly, a breath of fresh air. Words can't describe the feeling of listening to their music for the first time, and breathing a massive sigh of relief after it occurred to me that yes, they actually know what a melody is, and haven't disappeared up their own backsides.
They formed in 2002 and released their debut album The End of the Beginning (2002) on their own Revive Records label.
All Is Violent, All Is Bright (2005) is the band’s second album. The album features their build ups from serene ambience to searing intensity and is a closer representation of their live sound.
God Is an Astronaut released an EP called A Moment of Stillness in 2006.
Their third album, Far from Refuge, was released in April 2007 on Revive Records and as a download via their website at http://www.superadmusic.com/god/.

A Place to Bury Strangers

A Place To Bury Strangers have often been called "the loudest band in New York". This may very well be the case, but unlike much so-called "loud" rock and roll that's out there, APTBS is not loud simply for the sake of it. The sonically overdriven sound they've accomplished is no clumsy accident, but a carefully cultivated and well-maintained entity all its own, fostered by an unbridled passion that's clearly evident in every live show they play and each recording they make. A Place To Bury Strangers does not so much play songs as allow them to pour out. They are songs about longing, heartbreak and confusion played extremely well and at a passionately loud volume

I'm all all unraveledBut you know no matter where we areWe're always touching by underground wiresI've explored you with the detachment of an analystBut most nights we've raided the same kingdomsAnd none of our secrets are physical now
