Born in Hiroshima, Kashiwa Daisuke (
柏大輔) started off as the composer and guitarist of postrock band Yodaka in 2001.
Later on their postrocking and psychedelic sound and the influences of Jim O’Rourke, Alva Noto, and Maurizio Bianchi made him concentrate on a solo career in the year 2004, in which he now collaborates with artist like Mokira, a Mille Plateaux-Artist.
Daisuke mainly attaches importance to create not only acoustic but also electronic and experimental soundscapes and atmospheres. He mixes up a wide variety of classic instruments, spoken word snippets, crisp beats with a suitable proportion of ambient and builds them all up to one imaginary film made for listen to.
In 2004 he started his solo project, and his tracks were aired on RADIO SAKAMOTO to great critical acclaim.In 2005, his track was featured on a compilation album released by German avant garde label "onpa", he then went onto a Germany tour to support the release.His first album "april.02" was also released from “onpa” the year after. Electronic Music Magazine "DE;BUG" awarded it 5 points.In 2007, collaborating with olive oil (ROMZ), Takeshi Nishimoto and others, he released the remix album "april07".He soon follows with the release of his second album "’program music" from “Noble”.
